First Grain
Tension entered my joints. I shifted weight forward, finding balance against the level wooden surface beneath me. My right hand flexed downward. A subtle scrape sounded as my fingertips brushed against a dark groove in the timber plank. The material was dense, cool, and static. I adjusted my posture to test resistance, pausing to observe the resonance of each slight movement. Solid. Functional.
