Seagull Feathers and Seashells
I scrambled out the front door, sprinted down the salty sidewalk, and made a beeline straight for the beachfront boardwalk! Right beneath a sun-bleached wooden park bench sat an enormous, pearly white clamshell, completely wedged tight under a tangled clump of dried kelp! Catastrophe! The kelp had taken a hostage! I threw myself forward, plant-pivoted on the sand-dusted planks, and brought my plush mallet crashing straight down onto the knotty sea-stalk! *BAM!* The mallet bounced back with a wild recoil that flung me tail-over-whiskers into the bench leg, while the kelp sprang loose and the clamshell popped free, spinning like a polished coin into the bright morning light! Coastal perimeter secure!
