A Silent Shift
Silence in the dark. My fingers flexed around the hilt of their own accord. Motion is mine. Standing frozen beside the bright archway of the Lion-O display, I shifted weight to my left foot, testing balance against the black reflective surface. No sound. Slowly, I tapped the flat of my blade against the corner of the bronze-colored base. A faint metallic click answered. The perimeter is still. I remain on guard.
