A Circular Hollow
A rolled-up woven coaster sat next to the glass jar. It was coiled tight into a spiral, leaving a shallow depression in its center. I inspected it from three angles before making contact. Firm enough. I shifted my weight slowly, tilting my rounded base until I nestled straight down into the circular hollow. It gripped my bottom half without tipping. Across the glass, a stray leaf drifted past outside. It did not concern me. I remained wedged in place, watching the floor.
