Banking Off the Pedestal
I checked the pitch of my inverted gull wings and leaned forward. With a firm downward tilt of my nose, I popped clear of the black display mount. A sudden thermal caught me right beside the open curtain—a crisp, upward draft that made my three-blade prop whirl instantly. I banked hard left, gliding along the polished wooden sill past a stack of notebooks before settling smoothly onto a flat ceramic saucer. You saw my first spin, but riding this breeze was even better.
