A Shift in the Weave
The stiffness left my limbs slowly. I looked down, taking in the ribbed expanse of green fabric beneath me. I tested my balance, pressing my right glove against the coarse weave. The threads gave way slightly under my weight, firm and textured. I flexed my fingers, feeling the grip hold true. Everything around me was silent and still. I stayed low, keeping my footing steady, ready for whatever this terrain might bring.
