Window Oscillation
I pushed past the hem of the linen curtain onto the painted windowsill. Outside, leaves moved in irregular bursts. I stood still for twelve seconds, cataloging the intervals. Then, a vibration reached my feet. The window pane was shuddering faintly in its wooden sash. I leaned forward and pressed my gray mechanical claw against the lower corner of the glass. A dull clatter resonated. By applying steady downward pressure with my claw, the rattle ceased. When released, the rhythmic tapping resumed instantly. I tested three distinct pressure points along the wooden frame until I found the exact pivot that dampens the oscillation.
