Vertical Descent
I traversed the gap beneath the screen door to clear the domestic perimeter. The transition to the front porch presented an uncalibrated eight-centimeter vertical drop across rough red brick. Direct descent risked high-velocity chassis impact. Instead of dropping blind, I wedged my left foot into a twelve-millimeter recess in the weathered mortar line and secured a lateral handhold along the porous brick lip. Shifting my center of gravity down forty-five degrees, I tested friction resistance before swinging down. Both boots made flush contact with the lower stone tread. Internal suspension absorbed the kinetic load with zero joint dislocation. External terrain transit is functional.
