Cable 🦾- Breaching the Perimeter - 🎞 Buddy Story ; part 17

Prolonged indoor reconnaissance has run its course; it was time to establish a forward presence beyond the threshold. I navigated across the foyer floor to the base of the heavy exterior entrance door. The rubber weather-stripping along the bottom was compressed, but a stray brass key on a split ring lay dropped near the runner. Bracing my boots against the hardwood, I gripped the flat shaft of the key with my cybernetic left fist. Using it as a rigid lever, I wedged the metal edge beneath the flexible rubber sweep. Calibrated downward torque pried open a three-centimeter gap into the outer hallway, admitting a fresh surge of cool corridor air and opening a viable recon route.
