Spinning Seed Wings
I picked up a dry maple seed with two curved papery wings from the path. It looked just like a miniature propeller! I marched right over to the low stone retaining wall and climbed up the rough mortar joints. The sun warmed the flat top stones. I walked straight to the outer edge, hoisted the seed high above my head with both curved hands, and let go. Whoosh! The twin wings caught the air and spun into a fast, dizzying spiral. It drifted smoothly down until it landed right in the soft clover lawn below. Aerodynamics in action! I need to find another one.
