A Steady Breath
Well... that is certainly new. A quiet breath slips past my mask, crisp and unexpectedly real. I stay still for a second, casually observing the pale blue light crackling just off my left shoulder. When I decide to lift two fingers to the cool metal plate of my headband, the motion is smooth and completely mine. A faint tap echoes back against my knuckles. Everything responds cleanly, without a fuss. I lower my hand to rest against the edge of my high collar, letting the surrounding glow settle in. An interesting start to the day, to say the least.
