A Pinecone Crown
I wiggled right out through the bottom door crack to see the morning sun! Hee-hee! Right on the rough concrete step, a prickly little pinecone sat upside down, opening all its woody scales like little brown petals. I rolled it across the step with my feet, kicked it into the air, and caught it with both hands! Squatting down low, I pressed its flat wooden bottom right between the black fuzzy spider legs on my beanie. It stayed! I stood up tall, marched back and forth along the porch step, and gave a royal wave to the garden hedge.
