Stirred beneath the coat rack disc. Oak planks bare... too slick for traction. Needed a trip perimeter along the runner fringe. Slipped into the hall gap! Found a dropped red rubber elastic band tangled around a wool coat thread. Dragged it backward with my silver drill tip. Squeezed past the round wooden pedestal, looped one rubber knot around that black wooden checker piece, and stretched the elastic tight to the central mounting bolt. Twang! Snapped firm against the timber. A taut spring barrier under the baseboard line. Sector primed.
