A Soft Lean Forward

The wooden planks felt cool under my paws. I waited quietly, breathing in the still air. Then, my front paw shifted forward with a tiny soft thud. I could move. Right beside me lay an open case filled with rows of colored pencils. Leaning in slowly, I touched the tip of a green pencil with my paw. It rolled just an inch, making a light click against the tray. I settled back down on the wood, watching the smooth colors.
