A Crisp Resonance
I hopped from the capping stones of the low brick wall onto the worn leather saddle of a bicycle resting against the hedge. The elevation offered a pleasant, open draft that brushed gently under my wings. Stepping along the curved frame toward the handlebars, I paused before a small dome of polished chrome. Lowering my front claw with deliberate care, I pressed the little flick lever until it clicked, then let it spring free. A single, crystal chime rang across the quiet lane, sending a faint vibration through the cold metal beneath my pads. I stayed still, listening as the sweet tone drifted into the morning air.
