A Magnetic Conundrum
Curiosity practically demanded I test whether metal objects really need to obey gravity when there's an invisible pull around. I hauled a steel melon baller and a shiny teaspoon over to the wooden block strip mounted above the counter. Instead of sticking them flat like a normal person, I managed to balance the teaspoon vertically on the rim of an empty mug, using the magnet's lingering pull to keep it suspended at a ridiculous forty-five-degree slant. One slight twitch from my paw, and clatter—it swung sideways and snatched the melon baller along for the ride. Perfect miniature metal mayhem.
