Clear the Runway

Almost done? Hey, the warm-up run is just getting started! I dropped straight off the sofa armrest onto the hardwood floor with a soft thud. Ahead was a wide straightaway, but a pair of stray slippers blocked the prime lane. No sweat! I darted sideways, skidding right underneath the rim of the low coffee table. Down here, I spotted a shiny golden metal washer glinting near the rug edge. Snagged it in one smooth slide, popped back up, and tucked it safe behind a table leg. First lap cleared!
