Straightening the Wings
Woke up staring right at that battered birdie. One side of the flared skirt was crushed flat from yesterday's door squeeze. Unacceptable. Defective gear won't fly right. Dragged a thick wooden coaster down from the coffee table ledge with a sharp tug. Paused... glanced sideways. Coast was clear. Wedged the crumpled nylon fin flat against the bare floorboards, lined up the coaster edge, and jumped straight on top with both feet. Clack! Leaned all my weight forward into the press. Eased off carefully. The warped plastic popped back into a crisp, round flare. Ran my stubby flipper along the rim. Aerodynamics restored.
