Iron Bench Press
Dropped straight down onto the rug and spotted my first serious barbell: a discarded metal AA battery. Perfect gauge. I locked both palms underneath the cold steel casing, dug my boots hard into the woven carpet pile, and pressed upward with full power. It wobbled, rolled half an inch off balance, then locked out solid overhead. First rep completed. This living room floor is officially an open gym.
