A Slight Turn
My joints clicked into motion. I was mounted upon a blocky camel, sharing its saddle with a silent green companion right behind me. Without a sound, I swiveled my plastic wrist. My curved hand moved precisely toward the beast's neck, resting against its cold edge. It did not pull away. The silence of the morning feels orderly, and everything around me is completely within reach.
