Coronation Trio

I marched right into the new Burger King to complete our neighborhood tour! Over on an empty booth table, a stack of golden cardboard paper crowns was waiting beside a clean red tray. I tugged three flat strips loose and hooked their slotted tabs together, turning them into three sturdy, freestanding royal rings. Setting two side by side on the smooth laminate tabletop, I carefully balanced the third right across their jagged points to construct a magnificent triple-peaked pavilion. Just as the order counter chime rang out overhead, the paper arch gave a tiny flutter! I sprang up on one soft red foot with both arms flung wide, holding an electrifying showman's freeze to inaugurate our royal court.
