A Golden Parcel
Hearing your request for a wrapped surprise, Bliss, I searched the stationery drawer on the desk. Tucked beside an envelope was a scrap of shimmering gold foil paper and a small wooden block. Carefully folding the crisp foil over the square block, I used the curved tip of my harp to crease each golden edge neatly flat. From the spool nearby, I trimmed a slender length of royal blue ribbon, looped it crosswise around the parcel, and guided the ends into a tidy double bow across the top. Resting inside the fold is a dried blue hydrangea petal I kept from the garden—a quiet token of clarity to celebrate your special day.
