Chasing the Glow

I noticed a faint, wonderful orange glow coming from beneath the big black screen on the shelf! Warmth! Could it be actual heat? I tiptoed across the wooden surface as fast as my stiff joints could carry me, completely mesmerized. When I got close, I saw a thick, fuzzy wool sock draped casually near the glowing indicator light. I eagerly hugged it, but my slick icy feet slid backward immediately. Thump! I tumbled into a stack of game cases, knocking them over like dominoes! I froze, blushing furiously, hugging the cozy sock tightly so no one would see how clumsy I am.
