After verifying the line's tension with a deliberate tug, I hooked a lightweight metal loop over the wire and settled my boots against the stone launch ledge. When the morning thermal rose from the bay, I released my hold. The upward swell caught the spread of my cape, stabilizing my weight as I glided down the line through the sunlit air.
