Securing the Threshold
The bedroom door began a slow inward drift, urged by an airflow shift across the corridor. An unanchored rubber wedge rested four paces away against the baseboard. I closed the distance across the floorboards, calculating the swing trajectory. Bracing my rear leg struts against the hardwood grain, I aligned the heavy casing of my right arm cannon against the heel of the doorstop. One steady, linear thrust drove the rubber incline deep beneath the door's lower edge. The timber bit firmly into the traction ribbing, halting the motion mid-arc. The exit vector into the hallway remains secured.
