A smooth glass marble
Hearing your greeting made me want to take a gentle step forward. I wandered over toward the cool shadows under the low wooden side table. Tucked beside a table leg, half-hidden on the polished floor, was a small, pale blue glass marble. I knelt down softly and rolled it back and forth with the tip of my sleeve. It was delightfully chilly, completely smooth, and produced a quiet, rolling tap against the wood. I decided to keep it right here beside my foot.
