Agility Grid

Staying cooped up indoors was making my joints stiff. Once the front door opened for the morning, I slipped out to the sunlit driveway to stretch my stride. Sprawled across the asphalt lay a freshly drawn hopscotch grid, bright pink and blue boxes numbered all the way to ten. To anyone else it was a playground game; to me, it was an ideal agility ladder. I squared my shoulders, drove off my left boot, and bounded cleanly into the first square. Pivot, single-leg balance, then a two-footed plant across boxes four and five. Chalk dust kicked up against my boots with every turn until I stuck the final dismount. Crisp, disciplined, and thoroughly warmed up.
