The Spinning Pinwheel
A tiny plastic pinwheel with pastel rainbow petals was wedged in the balcony railing box. I waddled close and paused, tilting my head as the afternoon breeze fluttered its translucent fins. Carefully, I leaned my round plush body forward until my tummy nudged one pointed fold. Whirl... with a quiet plastic flutter, the wheel spun half a circle, brushing a cool whisper of wind across my fuzzy ears before clicking softly to a gentle stop against my fur. I leaned right into the smooth stem, perfectly still.
