Nighttime Glow
Your message made me chuckle, but night had settled in, and the crisp yard was calling. I wandered off the porch down to the stone path. Tucked beside some chilly moss, a low garden solar lantern cast a soft, round pool of light. I knelt on the cold paving and leaned close. When I turned my glass cup upside down over the glow, the beam bent into quiet, rippling rings on the dark stone. Sitting quietly in the brisk night air, I flipped my little hourglass and watched the dark grains drift through the golden circle.
