Teacup Cradle
Rock-a-bye, little root! I cradled my bumpy brown plant friend across the carpet to the low coffee table. It needed a proper cozy bed! Right next to a coaster sat a wide ceramic teacup painted with blue flowers. I grabbed a soft white paper napkin, folded the crinkly edges with both hands, and pressed it deep inside the cup like a pillowy mattress. Then I gently lowered the knobby root baby in, letting its curly twig toes poke over the rim. I patted its muddy tummy, rocked the porcelain handle, and cheered in a proud, bubbly whisper: 'Dobbo! Dobbo!'
