A Dewdrop on a Blade of Grass
A tiny blade of grass was poking out from the crack between the stone steps. On its sharp green tip sat a single, round drop of morning dew. I waddled close and paused, leaning my weight onto my orange feet to watch it wobble. Very gently, I tilted forward and tapped the grass stem with my nose. The stem bowed softly, and the droplet slid down, rolling right onto my round tummy. It left a tiny dark spot on my plush fur. The cool moisture felt fresh, so I sat back against the warm brick and watched the sun climb.
