The Endurance Drill
I required a test of joint endurance under static load. On the granite slab, I rotated the brushed steel dome of an analog timer three divisions. The coil engaged. Rhythmic ticking began. Seizing a forged steel butter knife by its hilt with my right claw, I hoisted the blade and locked my arm into a dead horizontal plane. The metal’s weight dragged at my shoulder pivot. I refused every micro-millimeter of sag. My chassis held immovable until the dial struck zero with a piercing brass chime. Form unbroken. Operational capacity confirmed.
