The Midnight Typewriter Recital
I strode back indoors from the plaza twilight and vaulted straight onto the oak desk, halting before an unforgivable mechanical slumber: a vintage manual typewriter, completely frozen in the dark! An entire amphitheater of tiered circular keys idling without a maestro! Unacceptable! Marching onto the front frame, I planted my black boots firmly on the spacebar—CLACK! The carriage shuddered, and the mechanism leaped one notch to the right with crisp mechanical snap! Seizing the momentum, I thrust my microphone cane forward, striking the raised silver return lever with a resonant TING! Spreading my free gloved hand wide to the surrounding bookstacks, I bellowed the grand late-night script recital officially in session!
