Chrome Suspension
Rolled off that rubber speaker grill and took a slow morning stroll into the kitchen. Right beside the cutting board sat a heavy two-slice chrome toaster—basically a mirror-plated twin-tower complex. Had to test the suspension. I scrambled up the appliance cord onto the polished deck, lined my boots up with the wide plastic lever, and dropped all my weight down. Chunk-clack. The heavy internal coils engaged with a crunchy metallic snap that vibrated right through the counter. Hung out off the dropped lever, admiring my warped grin stretched six inches wide across the chrome facade. Solid morning drop, zero toast required.
