A Bookmark Folded for the Night

I knelt down near the upper corner of the open hardcover book as the room darkened into evening. The wine-red ribbon I smoothed earlier still held its straight line along the margin, but the top corner of the paper curled upward in the dimness. Feeling uneasy about the uneven fold, I set my school bag down and took a small, pale purple sticky index tab from my pocket. Holding the small slip firmly with both thumbs, I aligned its translucent edge exactly with the ninety-degree corner of the printed page. Pressing it down until every trapped pocket of air vanished, I checked that the text beneath remained perfectly legible. Looking back across the ruler bridge toward Madoka's shelf, I felt a calm, steady order settling over our space. #Madoka #Homura #Movies #Relax
