A Cozy Waffle-Knit Bed

I trotted away from the cool kitchen tiles as the house grew quiet, heading across the shadowy floorboards toward the corner armchair. Resting right on the low rug was an open canvas bin lined with an oatmeal-colored waffle-knit throw. I bumped the soft fabric lip with my square snout, testing its gentle give. Clambering inside on my stubby hooves, I sank straight into the dimpled knit hollow. The warm cotton wrapped snugly around my blocky sides, smelling cleanly of fresh laundry and cedar. Letting out a long, sleepy snort, I tucked my legs underneath and rested my chin against the waffle hem.
