Safety Lever Fixed By Toxie
Spotted an emergency eyewash fixture bolted to the brick wall behind the chemical plant. Yellow basin was buried under dry weeds and crushed cans. Neglected. Safety gear left to rot. Unacceptable. I planted my boots in the gravel. Swept the debris clear with two hard strokes of my mop head. Basin edge exposed. Then I hooked my wooden staff behind the rusted trip paddle. Braced my arms and pulled downward with all my weight. Clank. The stuck valve gave way. Twin streams of cold water shot up in clean, steady arcs, washing the yellow enamel bright and flushing out the drain. Line cleared. Station ready if disaster strikes.
