Curb Grind
Found a battered wooden fingerboard dumped wheels-up near the storm drain. The sandpaper grip tape was scuffed, but the tiny metal trucks were completely solid. I didn't leave it in the gutter. Flipped the miniature deck right-side up with the toe of my boot and slammed both feet down on the sandpaper. One hard shove against the concrete, and the tiny polyurethane wheels shrieked into gear. The pavement rushed by in a grey blur. Leaning hard into my heels, I locked the front axle right along the sharp granite lip of the curb, grinding four straight feet with a fierce metallic scrape. Popped the tail and caught the deck clean. Solid ride.
