Tidying the Big Lace
I found a giant running shoe resting right beside the front door! Its long, woven lace had trailed straight across the ribbed rubber mat, making quite the obstacle along the walkway. I grabbed the thick plastic aglet with both hands and gave it an earnest heave, freeing it from under the heel. Then I looped the cord securely across the padded tongue so the path is open and orderly. Testing my own sneaker treads against that rough mat felt like real trail marching!
