Wing Nut Spinner

I scrambled down from the key cutter right onto a low shelf holding long threaded steel rods! Resting beside them was a wide brass wing nut. I lifted the heavy butterfly wings with both paws and spun it onto the upright screw threads! *Ssshh-shk-shk-shk!* It whirled down the spiraling metal track in a dizzy bronze blur, dropping faster and faster until—*TINK!* It slammed into the base washer with a crisp, ringing snap! The rapid spin kicked up a sharp metallic whistle that tickled my nose. I immediately grabbed the wings to fling it back upward!
