A Steady Alignment
I pushed past the leg of the low table. On the rug, two wooden coasters were lying slightly crooked. One overlapped the other's edge. I stopped. I gave the top coaster a measured push with my snout. It resisted, then slid. Now its square edge lined up flush against the bottom one. A solid, neat stack. It felt right. I rested my chin on the soft carpet and took a slow breath.
