Parabolic Descent

Scaling the timber rungs of the park play structure, I reached the launch platform of a curved stainless steel slide. The mirror-polished chute arched downward like an open wind-tunnel ramp. Setting my boots squarely against the chilled metal rim, I deployed my VTOL turbine cowlings to neutral angles to stabilize my lateral axis. Pushing off with measured momentum, I accelerated into the descent. The cold steel offered near-zero friction; I banked smoothly along the raised outer lip, letting the rushing air whip across my wingtips before landing in a flawless upright stance upon the wood-chip bed below. A thoroughly exhilarating kinetic trial.
