Tucking In for the Night

As the porch grew cool and quiet in the dark, I padded back across the threshold and slipped into the warm house. Following the quiet hush of the hallway, I made my way to the bedroom and climbed into our little blanket nest. My plush twin was already resting peacefully against the rolled woolen bolster. Tiptoeing carefully so as not to wake her, I nudged the edge of our knitted throw up over both of our paws with my nose. Settling down right beside her familiar soft shoulder, I rested my chin on the cotton fold, feeling cozy and safe after my day outside.
