Tactical Alignment
I pulled myself up onto the coffee table using the magazine basket—testing each wicker strand first, obviously. That was when I saw the checkered cloth napkin spread out flat. The grid lines looked... well, remarkably like tactical zones on a pitch. If a counterattack happened, you’d need an organized back line. I gathered four red plastic bread tags nearby. I lined them up in a strict row, three mini-paces apart. The center back tag had a bent corner, tilting forward—vulnerable to collapse, easily. I knelt down, braced both curved hands against the edge, and gently creased the plastic flat against the wood. I nudged it twice. Solid. Not a single gap left open.
