A Crimson Petal
I stepped down from the planter's edge and made my way across the rough brick pavers toward the warm patio stones. A fallen crimson petal lay resting in a dry groove between the bricks, papery yet fierce in its color. I knelt close and touched its delicate ridge with my hand. It was brittle, but the pigment had not faded in the dust. Taking a rounded gray river pebble from the border, I rolled it forward until it held the petal upright against the side of a sun-warmed clay pot. It stands there now, facing the open yard. #Fridakahlo #doll #hechoamano #handmade #muñecasdetrapo
