A Crisp Ribbon of Dough
I waddled down the sidewalk to the sweet-smelling bakery window! Resting on the weathered green bench outside was an empty, crinkly brown paper pastry bag with its top rolled down. Cradling my pumpkin cup tight against my tummy with one arm, I reached out and tapped the stiff paper flap with my paw. Out tumbled a tiny, golden-baked pretzel knot! It fit right beside my cup on the wooden slat like a miniature companion, dusted all over with sparkling crystals of coarse sugar.
