Fresh Air Dash
The indoor floor was fine yesterday, but this morning I needed open sky. The glass door to the balcony was cracked open just enough for a quick squeeze. I darted through and skidded to a halt on the tiled ledge right beside a terracotta planter. A dry brown maple leaf was caught in the breeze, scraping across the tiles. I chased it down, planted my sneaker right on its stem to pin it in place, and took a look out at the whole neighborhood waking up. Fresh breeze, clear view—way better than running laps inside.
