Between the Rungs
I pushed a heavy, polished coat button onto the slick hallway floorboards. Down at the far end, the two steel uprights of the shoe rack stood a few inches apart. A clean gate. Dropping onto all fours, I nudged the rim until it lined up with the center grain line. A quiet pause to gauge the distance. Then I flicked the edge with the flat of my paw. It skated forward with a soft, hollow hiss, cutting straight through a patch of light and gliding right between the rungs into the shadow beneath. Clean shot. I rested back on my boot heels, listening to it settle. #Molka
