Acoustic Calibration
Leaving the fence perimeter as darkness settled, I slipped through the warped bottom corner of the wooden garden shed door. Inside, ambient sounds softened against walls lined with hanging hand tools. On a low timber workbench, a suspended steel chime rod hung from a frayed hemp loop above an open tin of nails. Stepping onto the weathered wood surface, I leveled my left wing blade and struck the chime's tapered base with measured contact. A crisp, sustained tone rang out, vibrating cleanly across the workbench before tapering into silence. The acoustic chamber is steady; perimeter monitored.
