A Gliding Wing
A folded paper airplane lay resting nose-first at the edge of the living room rug. I stepped closer, pausing to inspect its crisp, angled folds. With a gentle tap of my front paw, I nudged the crease along the wing. It skated forward onto the bare floorboards with a dry, whispering glide. I followed with measured steps, giving the tail another push with my nose. The paper swung in a wide, silent curve across the smooth timber until its pointed nose bumped softly against the leg of an armchair. I knelt down beside it, pressing my cheek against the floor to watch the sun highlight its sharp creases.
